Here at Gustavus, we can't wait to welcome you to campus on move-in day! It will be here before you know it. The Gustavus Orientation program is August 29 – September 1, 2008 and is focused on helping you with the transition to Gustavus and establishing a sense of belonging in this community. We know that feeling connected as a Gustie takes a different amount of time for each person. However, we hope with the assistance of many members of our community that you will begin to see this as your home.
As soon as you arrive on campus on August 29, you will experience the unmatched enthusiasm of the "Gustie Greeter" student orientation staff. They will welcome you at the entrances and be available across campus to assist with directions or any questions you may have throughout those first four days. They will also be facilitating your Orientation Group, which is designed to help you connect more closely with fourteen other new students and a faculty or staff member, during Orientation and into the academic year. These small groups are great opportunities to discuss what you are looking forward to as well as any concerns you may have.

In 2002, Gustavus Adolphus College was awarded an automated DNA sequencer and related software from LI-COR® Biosciences, valued at nearly $70,000. Gustavus was chosen from a pool of 30 applicants at undergraduate institutions in the nation to receive this equipment.
